Kiawah Island’s Award-Winning Amenities

Kiawah offers visitors a perfect balance of natural Lowcountry beauty, old-world southern charm and first class resort amenities for rejuvenating outdoor experiences. Explore the island on 30-miles of paved trails through acres of scenic landscapes scattered with untouched maritime forests, tidal creeks and captivating lagoons, tee off on one of 5 award-winning golf courses, master your tennis at our world-class tennis facility, or simply switch to island time on 10-miles of pristine sandy beaches along the Atlantic coastline.

Kiawah Island’s Natural Attractions & Activities

Our tranquil sea island has a subtropical climate making it an idyllic vacation destination with mild winters for snowbirds and comfortable temperatures year-round for activities on the water. Flyfish the flats and banks on the Kiawah River, embark on an eco-tour of the marshes and inlets in search of dolphin pods, crabs and beautiful birdlife, kayak or SUP the creeks or sip sundowners as you set sail into the sunset. Kiawah Island’s Beachwalker Park is voted one of the most beautiful beaches on the South Carolina coastline, boasting 10 miles of pristine sandy shoreline, gentle ocean waters and outstanding facilities for a family beach day. There’s seasonal lifeguards, restroom and shower facilities, a picnic area with grills, concession stands with snacks and drinks, and beach chair and umbrella rentals (they’ll even set up at your closest boardwalk!). Unwind with your toes in the sand watching the bottlenose dolphins and boats cruise by, play for hours in the calm ocean waters, surf fish from the shoreline, or rent a cruiser and ride for miles along the Atlantic shoreline. Be sure to watch the local tide charts, beach cruising is best on the hard packed sand after a high tide.
